Black Friday

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Then there comes Black Friday, day-after Thanksgiving shopping day. They say it's the unofficial kick-off of the Christmas shopping season. Personally I never experience the fun of shopping on Black Friday. We only watched about it in the morning news on televisyen the next day and heard from some friend's experiences. Last year one of our friend told us that he and another friend of him camp out in front of Sears from early evening. He said it was pretty fun and he got what he wanted with a very good price.

I tried to convinced my hubby to join the crowds for many years now without any luck. Not that I want to do all the the camp out thingy, to be honest it's more scary than fun to me, but just to do some quick shopping when the crowds already thin up. But nay, he is willing to pay more and go shopping some other day when it less busy....gheesh!. But it is one big event and I would like to have the experience at least once in my lifetime...hihi... call me pathetic. It's really amazed me that people is willing to camp out in a cold night in front of a store just to do some shopping. And the line was so long. But I guess it worth all the hassles if we get what we want with a real bargain price and at the same time have some fun. :-)

This year Walmart the biggest retailer in the USA start their Black Friday on November 2nd, three weeks before Thanksgiving. :-) Other than that,I saw some bigger store already have their Black Friday's ads out. I surely will try my luck shopping on Black Friday this year but I will do it online instead. Okay, less than 3 weeks to go,so time for coupons hunting now.

Hilda, I'm with your hubby about not going out on "Black Friday". The crowds never die down all day and many many people are rude and push and shove and can really get on your nerves. The clerks get in a bad mood from customers yelling at them all day about things they have no control over. I think they all deserve a medal if they don't quit their jobs that day. I prefer not to go shopping on that day because it would really start my season out bad. I prefer to take that day to reflect on what the day of Christmas is REALLY about and now I speak to others who may read your blog. The birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ is what the celebration is all about. This man came to earth and gave his life as a ransom for our sins so that we might have eternal life. Whether you believe it or not, there's more proof about it being true than not. Jesus also preached the 2 most important commandments. (1)To love the Lord your God with all your strength, heart, mind and soul and (2) love your neighbor as yourself.
Steve says that he'll go shopping with you, Hilda. Then me and Doug will stay home and enjoy the quiet. I do understand your interest in experiencing it for yourself and maybe it won't bother you like it doesn't bother my hubby. But, then, I really don't enjoy shopping much anymore any time because of my physical limitations. I can only shop for a couple hours then I have to go home and on Black Friday, you really can't get much shopping done in a couple hours. I love you, my sister, and am looking forward to seeing you, Doug and Billy on Thanksgiving. God Bless
