Washington DC Trip 1

It had been two weeks since we got back from our Washington DC trip. I know…. I know…. where are the trip pics? (LOL) Things went pretty slow for me lately, I was hit by the summer bugs….haha!

Anyway, here are the pics from the trip. We had a great trip, lots of fun and beaches too. At the end of the trip, I have added three more states (Delaware, Maryland, and North Carolina) in my visited states group. Okay, enjoy the pics.

We are just a block away from the WH.

Unhappy Billy as dada put him in his stroller.

We went to Malaysia Kopitiam for lunch. Hainanese chicken or chicken rice as we called it back home. The rice was yummy but the chicken was just so so.

Dear hubby had Chicken Raja. It was pretty good.

This time we made it to the Arlington National Cemetery. Lot of visitors but felt so quiet. Somehow felt sad but peaceful. Thank you!

Arlington National Cemetery. It’s really huge.

At Crystal City Mall - Walked around the mall after dinner but most of the store have already close.

How I Paid Off $35,000 in Debt, and How You Can Too

No, it's not me. I like some of the ideas and hoping my dear hubby would read this too...hehe!

Last December, after twenty years of owing money, I finally paid off all of my debt (except the mortgage — and I’m working on that). Co-incidentally, Leo paid off his debt at the exact same time. I didn’t pay off my debt overnight. It took many years, and I made plenty of mistakes. But with patience and perseverance, I met my goal.

Summer Events In Knoxville/Oak Ridge

Happy Monday all! Hope you guys had a nice weekend. Ours was okay. We missed The Secret City Festival events, which held at the Alvin Bissell Park last Friday and Saturday. I have forgotten that all kid's events were scheduled on Friday. The park is just several blocks away from us and still we missed it all. Oh well, there is always the next year.

Then on Saturday, The Secret City Festival events continued with WWII Combat Reenactment and WWII Living History at the same park. And guess what? We did not make it to the shows either …haha. It's all my fault. I saw my sister online on Skype and we chatted for 2 hours. By the time I was done chatting with my sister, it was already lunchtime for Billy. So we decided to just stay at home for the whole day instead. Pretty boring, huh!

This weekend, dear hubby is taking part in Dragon Boat Races in Knoxville Dragon Boat Festivals. It is a charity event with Knox Area Rescue Ministries as the beneficiary. Other than the dragon boat races, there will be an entertainment, cultural activities and fun activities for children. I am so excited, not only because of dear hubby is participating in the dragon boat race but also because they have Asian cultural performances and activities that day. Horaaay! It will be my first time watching Asian cultural performances live in East Tennessee. It should be fun for Billy as well, as there will be Children’s Fun Zone and this year for the first time they have Asian Culture Center…..yeah!!! I will try to take good pictures but we will see.

All Day Activities:
*More than 25 heats of racing
*Live Music by Dishwater Blonde at noon
*Live Music by Mission Possible at 2p.m.
*Performances by the Organization for Chinese/Chinese Americans at various times
*Children's Fun Zone sponsored by Coulter & Justus with inflatables, games and new this year - Asian Culture Center with fun interactive activities!

Just Billy Having Fun!

Please Help - Milk Pledge For Needy Children.

"Malaysians drink about five litres of milk annually compared to Europeans who drink 150 litres of milk a year." :-(

Hi all. I read about this ‘Milk Loves You’ campaign and ‘Feed A Child’ on-line pledge in NST yesterday. The online pledge will provide six months of milk supply to 400 children in Pahang, Malaysia. Packaging manufacturer Tetra Pak will match your clicks with the number of milk packets to underprivileged children.

I did my part and would like to ask you to please help the needy children to have their milk soon. As soon as the clicks reaches 100 000, the manufacturer will donate the milk packets to the deserving children. All you have to do is going the website and click on 'Make Your Milk Pledge'. It’s very easy, no ads....hihi!

Thank you very much!

The New Straits Times - 2008/06/19

Click a milk packet to a needy child

KUALA LUMPUR: Click on a webpage and packaging manufacturer Tetra Pak will match your clicks with the number of milk packets to underprivileged children. The on-line pledge will provide six months of milk supply to 400 children in Pahang. Tetra Pak's managing director, Peter Jhaveri, said the company was targeting 100,000 clicks.

"Each on-line click represents a packet of milk. As soon as we receive 100,000 clicks, we will donate the milk packets to deserving children," he said after the launch of Milk Loves You! campaign and Feed-A-Child pledge here on Monday.

Tetra Pak is a packaging and distribution company for liquid food industries. The milk packets will be given to Tengku Puan Pahang Tengku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar. She also made the first pledge after the launch. She appealed to all Malaysians to click on-line. She said most Malaysians do not include milk in their diet.

"As soon as I knew I was to donate milk to underprivileged children, I called several homes. They told me their children do not want to drink milk because they throw up."

She then made a personal pledge to Nestle, which was also present during the launch, to donate mini corn flake packets to encourage children to drink milk. Jhaveri said Malaysians drink about five litres of milk annually compared to Europeans who drink 150 litres of milk a year.

"Children here stop drinking milk after two or six years old. Efforts should be taken to instill the benefits of drinking milk," he said.

It’s A Sad Day.

Today is indeed a very sad day for me. I have received an email from my friend back home this morning says that one of our friends has just passed away yesterday. It comes as a shocked to everyone as he was a healthy and athletic person without any major health concerns. In fact, he passed away while jogging in the sport complex. He was still young, maybe in his late 40’s or early 50’s.

He was a family man, a great friend and a great teacher. I'm blessed to have known him and have been his colleague for ten years. I have great respect for him. He was like a big brother to me. While I was still singled, he was the friend I came to when I need any advice (work related or personal) from a man point of views. He had never been biased or prejudiced when giving his opinions or advice and whatever you share with him will safe with him. What a great person he was.

He will be certainly missed by his beloved family, friends, his students and everyone who knows him. My heart and prayers go to his family. May God blessed and give strength to his wife and family. May you rest in peace, cikgu Bahrin.

We Are Back!!!!

Yeah!! We are back in town! So happy we made it home safe. We got home at about 11.00pm last night(Monday night). Actually, we supposed to stay overnight in Asheville, NC but last minutes we changed our mind and drove home. It was a nice driving home, at least for me and our little passenger as we were in our sweet dreamland most of the way. (LOL)

I still have loads of works to be done. Did all the unpacking yesterday and today will continue with house cleaning and laundries. Lot more works waiting for me, huh!

I will share about our trip when time permit.

Time to jump into the pool.

Enjoying his pool.

Hmmm...look like Billy need bigger pool soon. (LOL)

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Have you heard of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library? The program being implemented in the state of TN and 42 more states in the US to promote the pleasure of reading on children.. It’s helping every child, regardless income to own a book and library at home by providing free books to children from birth until they are five years old. One book is mailed to the child’s home every month. How cool is that?

I have my son enrolled in the program about three months ago and he has received his second books last week. Billy already has a pretty big collection of books but it is also nice to receive free books to add to his small library.

So if you are parents of a preschooler and living in TN, make sure you enroll your child in the program. Every child under 5 years old is eligible. You can get the form from your public library or register your child online at Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. It is a great program. Thank you to Dolly Parton. She is really a real diva.

The Imagination Library is also implemented in Canada and the UK. So parents in Canada and the UK, if you would like to enroll your preschooler, check the Imagination Library site out. :D

Thanks Dolly Parton for the books.

On The Road Again

Hi all! I am taking a break from my busy Friday. This would be my last posting this week, probably would be a while before I could update my blog again. Maybe! But I may surprise you…..hihi!

We are going on a trip again. This time we are heading to Washington DC. Dear hubby is going to a conference at the Uncle Sam capital city. It will be held at the Marriott Hotel, Crystal City. Actually, we were there last year. We will be staying at the same place, so nothing new. I would be happy to stay home with Billy especially if we had to fly but dear hubby said he would rather drive and have us come with. At least we do not need to put up with airport hassles and all. Unfortunately, Billy will be missing school for one and a half weeks.

We will be hitting the road tomorrow morning drive through Kentucky and West Virginia and arrive at Crystal City at around Sunday evening. We should be able to go around Washington DC and would probably visit a few more places we did not get to see last year. It is pretty easy to go around and the subway is close by the hotel.

After the conference, we will take the weekend to drive to Maryland and later to Virginia Beach before heading back to TN. We should be home on Tuesday. (June 17th)

Okay, I better run. I still have to finish my packing. Have a great weekend everyone!

Out Of Luck

Thank you all for the kind wishes on our anniversary. Sorry about the short post…hihi! We had a great time last weekend and on our anniversary. A little unfortunate we has to put on hold what we have planned last week because of the bad weather.

Actually, we planned to go to the drive-in theater last Sunday. We just wanted to do something different and memorable on our special day, konon. Dear hubby has been persuaded me to go to the drive-in theater for a while but the summer warm weather always put me off. Last Sunday was supposed to be cool and nice but the weather forecast has changed. It was raining on the late afternoon. We will still be going to one after we get back from our trip this weekend. I am hoping they will have ‘Sex and The City’ movie on by then….hihi!

On our anniversary we went to our favorite restaurant by the lake but to our disappointment they were close that day. So we head to another restaurant at the lake, Chinese restaurant sajalah….haha! Malaslah mau fikir. We had a nice dinner. Nothing really super special, let alone a candle light dinner. (LOL) I was not that excited to take pic either. That’s explaining why only one Billy’s pic in that post.….hihi! We might have our special anniversary dinner in DC sometimes next week.

After dinner we take a walk at the lake. Billy had so much fun watching geese and ducks swimming in the lake. I should have taken a few shots, oh well, maybe some other time.

Strawberry Plant!

My hubby has given me a nice surprise when he came home for lunch today. He bought a strawberry plant for me. I am pretty excited about it. Not really sure where I am going to plant it yet. Perhaps, I am going to plant it in one of my big pot as the one I plant earlier did not seem to make it.

I did plant strawberries root in these pots about two months ago. Looks like there is no sign of any plants to come out anytime soon. :-(

Our Long Weekend!

Billy helping dada water the plants.

Hi All! It’s exactly one week today since my last post. I am doing great, still have my allergy but I am much better now. It’s getting warmer and humid here in O.R. This morning, we decided it is time for our air conditioner to start doing it job again. The heat is just unbearable and yet more to come as summer is approaching.

Mommy's little helper.

Nothing much is going on here in O.R. I was as usual busy with Billy and house chores, of course. Since the weather is warmer and Billy is now allergy free, I let him play outside more. Most of the time, if we were on the porch where his sand and water box are, I would drag my laptop with, do my internet thingy while keeping on eyes on him. It works pretty good for me. Sound very much like an internet addict mommy, huh! Okay, maybe should say a creative and multi tasking mommy …..haha!

On Saturday, I had a pretty bad headache. Thank God, it was gone after some meds and nice rest and we were able to attend the noon Mass service on Sunday. Glad we made it to the church as it was Fr. William Oruko last Sunday Mass. He is leaving to his home country tomorrow. Have a nice trip, Father William! After church we went straight to the store to buy a 'good-bye' card for him.

On Monday, Billy and I went shopping at the mall while dear hubby run to the lab for some quick work. It has been a while since just the two of us went shopping without dear hubby. Billy behaved extremely well, no complaint at all. I was enjoying the shopping, text dear hubby to take as much time in the lab so I could shop more….haha! So there I was shopping away from 12.30pm – 4.30pm. I bought 3 blouse for myself, 2 shirts for dear hubby, and 5 for Billy. Not bad for 4 hours shopping, huh!

I Feel So Bad!

There is something bothering me in this past week. I just cannot get it out of my head. Deep in my heart, I feel pretty guilty. Not sure if I have done the right thing but guess it does not matter anymore. How I wish had done otherwise so it did not come to hunt me back.

Okay, here is the story. Last week, just a couple of days before we went on our trip, a guy in his early 20’s, came and knocked on my door. Normally, I would not open the door for strangers especially when dear hubby is not around. But since the guy saw me from the porch,(sitting in front of my computer, of course) thought it was rude for just ignored him while we were staring at each other, so I decided to open the door and talked to him through the screen door.

He introduced himself as one of our neighbors, living just a few blocks away from us. I have never seen him before but it's a vast neighborhood. He told me his heartbreaking story, his mother has just passed away and he is trying to make a buck for her funeral by doing odd jobs. How sad was that? He asked me if he could cut our lawn. But dear hubby just mowed the lawn two days earlier. He then looked at our yard and say he could pick the sticks or if I have any other job for him.

I was speechless and nervous. Just say sorry about his mother and sorry for I do not have any job for him. Actually I want to just give him some money but not sure if I have any small cash (or any cash at all) in my purse. I do not want to make him wait at the door with some hope but then return with nothing. That's very mean. So I just say sorry, I have nothing for him. The poor guy said it’s okay and left.

I felt so bad after he left. What if he was sincerely trying to make some money for that particular reason? A few bucks could make a big different for him. So I decided to do what I feel was right, grab my purse, took out $10 (that’s the most I would give) and waited if I see him again. He might walk on the same street on his way back. Unfortunately, I have not seen him again.

So that’s the story. I know there was also a chance that he might have made up thing to get an easy money. But he was not asking for free money but work to earns it. So most likely he was very sincere. If he were doing it to go to college maybe I would not feel that bad, but man, this guy was trying to make money for his mother’s funeral. And to make it worse, it was just a couple of days before Mother’s Day. I wish had the guts to just tell him to wait and see what I can find in my purse. If only I had given him something even if a couple of bucks, I might not feel that bad. God, I feel so guilty. Am I too hard on myself?

Creating Happier Morning.

Got this from Billy’s school press today. Love the tips and thought should share it here so other mom/parents can use the ideas too. I am going to incorporate it as my new habit started tomorrow. Wish me luck!

‘Rise & Shine’ Ideas To Get You and Your Children off to A Brighter Start.'

1. Create a hot breakfast meal together. Have your children help you make oatmeal, pancakes, or your family’s favorite breakfast together.

2. Tell a story to your child as you are getting them dressed. If you don’t know any, make one up! Create an ongoing story about a dinosaur or a friendly caterpillar. Be creative and have fun! The story line is only limited by your imagination!

3. Institute a ‘calm voices’ rule for the mornings. Define when the morning period ends- perhaps when breakfast is over, beds are made, or whatever works for your family. Model this for your children and they will follow.

4. Prepare for the day the night before. Nothing upsets the morning routine like being unprepared and being late! Take a little time the night before and lay out the clothes, etc…..to aid in the morning routine.

Trip To Chicago.

Hi all! How were your weekend looks like? Ours was okay. Billy went back to school this morning, after been absence for the whole week last week. You should see the big smile on his face when his red school bus come to pick him up this morning. He did not even bother to wave good-bye to mommy.

Hello!

Okay, a little story about our trip. We left on Sunday at about 10.00am, drove through Kentucky and stop overnight in Lafayette, Indiana. It was pretty late in the afternoon when we arrived in Lafayette. Dear hubby as usual, decided to drive on a state highway, adding about 100 miles more to our trip. With the gas price close to $4 per gallon nowadays, nah tambah koyaklah pocket kawan…hihi!

Arriving in downtown Chicago. The tall building with the two antenna is the Sears Tower.

We arrived in Chicago at about 2.00pm on Monday. After a short rest at the hotel we went to Sears Tower which is only about five blocks from our hotel. It’s so nice to finally set our foot inside the Sears Tower building as all this time we only look at it from afar or from the plane when we fly to or from the O'Hare airport.

Billy & mummy just outside Sears Tower.

Sears Tower

The next day, we went to Museum of Science And Industry. Dear hubby told me that this is one of the must visits museum ……hihi! He visited the museum twice when he was only 12 and 15 years old on a school field trips. He said it was much more exciting then. Haiyaaah! So long time ago already lah(LOL). I am not a very big fan of science and energy stuff but to my dear hubby everything in this area was very exciting to him. I guess that’s why he is in that field and I am not……haha!

One of Billy Favorite area.

Hi ! It's me.

Billy listening to energy audio.

Anyway, I guess we picked the wrong time to visit the museum as many interesting areas was close for maintenance. Oh well, we will probably be back for another visit when Billy is big enough to understand some of the thing there.

Inside the Idea Factory.

Hi!

We left Chicago around noon on Wednesday, drove on the highway along Lake Michigan to Michigan City. Unfortunately, we cannot see the lake from the road. The rest of the trip was pretty nice. We stop for dinner and overnight at Kokomo, Indiana. The next day we drove to Indianapolis, had lunch in one of the busy food court there before heading back to TN.

To All Teachers in Malaysia - Happy Teacher’s Day.

We are back in town. Actually we got home about 5.00pm on Thursday. We had a good trip even though we drove through the rain on most of our trip. Hmmm…. I am not going to talk about our trip in this post. Perhaps, I would post about it tomorrow.

Oh yeah, today is Teacher's Day in Malaysia. Happy Teacher's Day to all teachers in Malaysia!

To all my friends in Labuan, you guys are a wonderful teacher, keep up the good job!

This is one of my favorite poems.

GURU OH GURU
(Nukilan Sasterawan Negara Dato Usman Awang)

Dialah pemberi paling setia
Tiap akar ilmu miliknya Pelita dan lampu segala
Untuk manusia sebelum manjadi dewasa.

Dialah ibu dialah bapa juga sahabat
Alur kesetiaan mengalirkan nasihat
Pemimpin yang ditauliahkan segala umat
Seribu tahun katanya menjadi hikmat.

Jika hari ini seorang Perdana Menteri berkuasa
Jika hari ini seorang Raja menaiki takhta
Jika hari ini seorang Presiden sebuah negara
Jika hari ini seorang ulama yang mulia
Jika hari ini seorang peguam menang bicara
Jika hari ini seorang penulis terkemuka
Jika hari ini siapa saja menjadi dewasa;
Sejarahnya dimulakan oleh seorang guru biasa
Dengan lembut sabarnya mengajar tulis-baca.

Di mana-mana dia berdiri di muka muridnya
Di sebuah sekolah mewah di Ibu Kota
Di bangunan tua sekolah Hulu Terengganu
Dia adalah guru mewakili seribu buku;

Semakin terpencil duduknya di ceruk desa
Semakin bererti tugasnya kepada negara.
Jadilah apa pun pada akhir kehidupanmu, guruku
Budi yang diapungkan di dulang ilmu
Panggilan keramat "cikgu" kekal terpahat
Menjadi kenangan ke akhir hayat.

Changing Weather

We are going on a road trip to Chicago on Sunday. Dear hubby decided to drive us to The Windy City for Mother’s Day treat. Thanks dear. I am so looking forward to this trip, would be great to get a little break from this wicked pollen in East TN. We will be back in town on Thursday. Hopefully the weather changes and a nice Mother's Day shopping therapy(LOL) would help me to recovered from my allergy faster. :-)

Happy Mother’s Day and Happy Weekend!

Happy Thursday!

We have nice weather this morning. But it will change soon as we are expecting a big storm throughout the Midwest today…eeekk. Typical weather in the spring. Glad the storm won't be here until late afternoon today after Billy get home from school. This morning before he left for work dear hubby told me to watch for the storm. I was surprised he forgot to remind me of the ‘when tornadoes hit’ safety guides as he always did. You know, don’t go near any windows, don’t go take pics as it come, run into the bathroom and all that stuff….haha! Okay, sorry, it is a serious matter but I have listened to the same stuff every year and have it stuck in my head already. Love you dear!

Jason Castro, the charming guy got voted out last night. Hmmm, I am not really frustrated with the result as he did not performed well enough this week, forgot the lyric while the other three contestants did a great job?….hehe…poor thing. I like him very much, esp when he sang 'Hallelujah' and 'Over The Rainbow'. It brought tears to my eyes, yeah yeah, I am a touchy one....haha. Syesha is getting better and better each week. I think she performed just like a star in the last couple of weeks especially on the ‘Broadway Week’. But she will probably be the next to go as the two David’s are just so good. For my very personal opinion, Cook is already a star and he should be the next AI. But I bet Archuletta will be the winner. He is very likable, humble and of course his innocent smile. Haiyah...how to ignore lah....haha! The final week is only two weeks away….yeah!

Last week dear hubby bought me Daughtry CD. He knows how much I like this bald guy. …hihi. I have been his big fan since he was in the AI three years ago. Love all the songs esp ‘What About it Now’ and ‘It’s Not Over’. It’s the kind of CD’s I would put in my player, put on the play continuously mood, hit the play button and leave it playing for the whole day…..haha! And I did!

New Use For Vicks Vaporub

It’s working!

First, I would like to thank you, Tim & Ann of Labuan, who forward this article to me yesterday. Hmmm…. You guys must have been tired of reading my on and on complaints about my pollen allergy in my posting recently. At least something good came out of it…..haha! Thank you guys! It has been a while since Billy and I had a good night sleep. So I was pretty desperate to tries whatever helps us survive this season. Spring season (in East TN) is officially in my ‘S’ list.

Anyway, I have tried it last night and somehow it’s work for me. I had less congestion, no coughing and much better slept last night. Of course my stinkin allergy is still very much kicking but at least I slept through the night. :D

Okay, here you go;

NEW USE FOR VICKS VAPORUB

WOW! I was raised, and raised my kids with Vicks. How come I never knew this? I cannot wait for my next cough. Amazing! READ IT ALL. It works 100 percent of the time, although the scientists at the Canada Research Council (who invented it) are not sure why. To stop night-time coughing in a child (or an adult as we found out personally), put Vicks Vaporub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime and cover with socks.

Even persistent, heavy, deep, coughing will stop in about five minutes, and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. This works 100 percent of the time and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition, it is extremely soothing and comforting and they will sleep soundly. I heard the head of The Canada Research Council describe these findings by their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children as compared to alternative therapies like acupressure.
I just happened to tune in to a.m. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good due to the chemical make-up of these strong drugs, so I listened. It was found to be more effective than prescribed
medicines for children at bedtime and in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly. My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago and it worked 100 percent! She said it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her. The coughing stopped in a few minutes, and believe me, this was a deep (incredibly
annoying - every few seconds!), uncontrollable cough, and she slept cough-free for hours every night she used it. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be amazed at the effect.

Happy Mother's Day!

It's only 5 days before Mother’s Day. I would like to wish Happy Mother's Day to
all mothers, wherever you are and to my beloved mom, Happy Mother's Day, I love you so much!

MOTHER

M is for the miracle of Being.
O is for its origin in love.
T is for the tenderness of seeing.
H is for a home no wind can move.
E is for the ecstasy of living.
R is for the recklessness of giving.

Mom lived her life for love of friends and family

Mom lived her life for love of friends and family,
Neither asking for nor wanting a return.
Her days became a sunlit homily,With others'
joy her joy and main concern. When we were ill,
she also became sick;
When we were cut, she, too, began to bleed.

Of our oil lamp she was the wick,
Drawing her bright flame from our need.
Some say that such behavior's out of date:
That self-fulfillment is the way to grace.
But Mom, without much choice, then chose her fate,
Finding greater truth in an embrace.
She lives on in the sparkle in our eyes:
Laughing, quiet, gentle, loving, wise.

Trapped in an Elevator...With Diarrhea

This is exactly why it is illegal in the United States to install an elevator within 2 square miles of a Benihana. Poor guy! What a pity!

She is just so talented. I hope somebody from the music industry will discover her. :D

Happy Belated Anniversary Sis!

I was a little disappointed when I checked my diary this morning and saw a reminder note of my sister special day three weeks ago. I made the note when my sister mentioned about her plan to celebrate their big day a couple of months ago. For whatever reason I missed that note and just saw it today. Hey sis, I know you are reading this…hihi. What else can I say other than I am sorry. It was three weeks ago but it is never too late to make a wish, right?

For a special Sister and Brother in-law,

Sorry for the belated wishes for your wedding anniversary,

but it’s never too late to wish you loads of happiness and luck!

Paula & Micheal

Happy 20th Wedding Anniversary!

Hope you guys had a great one.

Wicked Allergy(Again?)

It’s Tuesday! We have a beautiful chilly morning today. After one week in shorts to school, today Billy is wearing jacket again. :-(

I am so happy he slept very well last night after many-many sleepless nights lately. He woke up mostly at about 2.00am crying and scratching his eyes and only went back to bed after we gave him some med. Last night we gave him allergy med before he went to bed and look like it worked well. At least he can get a good sleep through the night. We may have to do it every night until summer, unfortunately.

As for me, seem like I got pretty bad allergy this spring. Last year one med in the morning will do for the entire day. But this year, I have to take allergy med twice a day. I put eye drops three or four times a day and still have red and fluffy eyes when I woke up in the morning. This morning dear hubby made a suggestion that I would never want to think of. At least not for now. He suggested that I see a doctor and get a stronger prescription med or even get a shot for allergy. NO!!! That would be my very last option. Glad that I have an appointment with optometrist to get new prescription glasses this Friday. So I would get eyes check in just a couple of days...yeah! At least I would know if by any chance I got eyes' infection. Sorry guys, look like I was just complaining about my allergy this entire week….hihi!

Anyway, I am sure you guys have heard or read about the sad, horror story about the guy(disgusting monster I would call him) in Austria, who kept his daughter and children he fathered in the cellar for 24 years. It’s a very disturbing story. I could never imagine the life she and her children went through for 24 years in that cellar. No punishment for the old monster could bring back the life he took from her daughter and her children. Hopes he will live longer to see the devastated he has done to his own family and grandchildren. Nature will take care of the rest.
Sad.

Looking Forward For Summer

We still have two more months before it is officially summer time. Sound like I am so looking forward to the summer time to come, huh! Not really, I am not very excited about summer time, as it is just a little too warm for me. The truth is I was used to the hot and humid weather but not the hot and dry air in the summer….hihi. It is just crazy hot in the summer.

I just want spring season to be over soon. So tired of sneezing all day long and of course runny nose and watery eyes in its package. Whatever is it in the air here in TN, it is not compatible with Billy and me. I have not had this problem while we were living in Missouri. Trees and plants in these two states are pretty much the same but why is it I gets hay allergy here but not at MO are still a mystery for me.

So unfortunate for poor Billy as he also has the pollen allergy. Thank God it is just seasonal because having cold-like symptoms for about three months is not fun at all. Glad it isn’t caused by a virus but by an allergic response to specific substances in the environment you are in. I am hoping that dear hubby would get a job somewhere else like MO where Billy and I won’t have to suffer from hay fever anymore. It is something we are not looking forward to every year. But for now, we gonna have to wait with patient until this spring season is over.

'True Love' Tag

It’s Tuesday again. We have wonderful weather today. I just finished doing my house chores and Billy would not be home from school until 11.45am. So it is being my quiet time now, time to update my blog. Last night while cleaning my puter, I saw my ‘Tags File’ is pretty ‘full' already. I am gonna have to emptying it up soon...hihi!.

First one is ‘True Love’ tag from Aa- Eman. Hmmm, talking about true love, honestly I do not think too much about it now until I got this tag. (LOL) Of course I thought and talked about it with my BFF and ex-colleague a lot while I was still singled. You know those days when you have to decide if he were the right one for you and all that stuff…haha! What an exciting topic specially when you talk about it with your married friends. (LOL!) I am sure many of you had such experiences. Okay, I better go right to the tag...…hihi!

The Rules:
Copy the questions and answer them honestly!

1. What does true love mean to you?

* Highly respect to each other, accept you for who you are & always be there for each other.

2. How do you know you're really in love?

* When just thought of him make my face glow.

3. How many times in your life have you fallen in love? Plenty

* Fallen in love as in truly absolutely in love? Twice

4. Have you ever fallen out of true love because you were mad at the moment?

* Nope.

5. Do you feel love and physical attraction is the same thing?

* Nope, physical attraction is just a plus.

6. If your true love became ill or disfigured, would you continue to love them the same way?

* Yes. I would always be there for him.

7. Should anyone else be able to tell you who to love or not love?

* No Way.

8. Do you believe people that ended up divorced were ever truly in love?

* Yes.

9. Would you give up something you want for someone you love?

* Absolutely.

10. If you truly love someone, do you feel it should be unconditional?

* This is a hard one. Yes and No, depend on the circumstances. I would say NO when it involving my faith and self-principles.

Now I am would like to know the perspective of True Love from,

Rose
Luthie
Jen
Dina.

Have a wonderful week!

Billy's Class Field Trip To The Zoo.

Yesterday we took Billy to the zoo in Clinton, another town about 40 minutes away from O.R. It was a small zoo called The Ponderosa Zoo. They have many animals from goats, kangaroos, Zebras, camels, turtles and many more. I think it was not that bad for $6 admission fee.

Actually, it was one of Billy’s school programs and parents and siblings were invited too. I am so happy that dear hubby was eventually able to get the morning off and drive us there. It was after many days of seeing my bleak face since he said could not make it and probably should just let Billy miss the zoo visit or ride on the school bus. I have no problem with him riding on his bus as usual because I fully trust the teachers. What made me feel so sad was when I think of him in the zoo alone, without his parents, so sad. I have no doubts his teachers are there for him but still not the same if we are there. And I definitely don’t want him to miss the fun his peers would get at the zoo.

There are about 12 parents showed up with 3 guys including dear hubby. It was really fun. Nice to see the grins on the kids faces while riding a pony. Billy has his pony riding time too with dada held his hand tight while it moving. He seems to enjoy the short round and round pony ride….hihi! Other than the pony ride, the kids were also allowed to feed the animals. But most of them including Billy have chosen to feed the ducks. :D

We spent about 2 hours in the zoo and left early because dear hubby still has to attend his division meeting. After dropped us by at the house, he went to his meeting and before 4.00pm rushed home for a meeting with Billy’s teachers. Yeah, what a hectic day it was. But overall it was fun and productive day.
